Sandra Prinsloo and John Kani shared the stage for the first time in 1985 when they performed in Miss Julie. And now, more than 30 years later, they will share a stage again – this time in an Afrikaans version of the legendary play Driving Miss Daisy. So Ry Miss Daisy, translated into Afrikaans by Saartjie Botha, tells the story of Daisy and Hoke, the man hired by Daisy’s son, Boolie, to drive Daisy around. At first Daisy is against the idea of having a chauffeur, but over the next 25 years a special relationship grows between Daisy and Hoke in spite of the colour barrier and their respective social standing. So Ry Miss Daisy can be seen at The PE Opera House Main Theatre from 05 December until 09 December at 19:00 daily. Ticket prices are R100 Single, R150 double and R50 pensioners and students. For ticket bookings and show enquiries please do contact Cingiwe Skosana or Nomgcobo Mkize on 041 586 2256. The play will be performed in Afrikaans. Drama Seasons is produced by the PE Opera House, funded by the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and the Eastern Cape Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture.
